Domains, hosting, custody

Custody is about who holds the keys, not a claim that xTerminal is the host. The public site still lives where the developer deployed it. The dashboard holds membership, content state, and Request history for that site.

Who holds what

• Owner: the dashboard, billing for xTerminal, and the right to file and accept Requests.
• Developer: the repo, the host, and DNS at the registrar they already use.
• xTerminal: membership, content state, Request history, and worker access for that site.

Domains and hosting

Owners may walk an infrastructure setup in the dashboard. That does not move the registrar into xTerminal. Do not read marketing lines like nothing to renew as a DNS product. There is no hosting bill inside this control panel because hosting is not sold here.

What owners do not buy here

• A domain name.
• A host plan.
• A GitHub organization.

Infrastructure setup

Some owners see an infrastructure flow after the site exists. It collects facts the developer needs (including a developer email that can carry into Invite). Completing it does not make xTerminal the host. Treat it as a checklist, not a transfer of DNS.

If the public site is down

The dashboard can still be up when the public site is not. That usually means the host or DNS, not xTerminal billing. File a Request if Requests is on, and loop in the developer who holds the host. Do not expect a domain purchase flow inside this control panel.
