The Request loop
Compose, worker, review, then Ship to live. A person stays in the loop.
Requests is the board for bugs, features, and changes the content tools do not cover. Status moves in place: Submitted, Working, Review, Live. A worker can build. A person still reviews the preview. Live is a later step.
When you have Requests
Managed includes Requests. Foundation and Advanced do not, unless a developer granted an override. The site also needs Show Requests turned on under Settings, Requests. The sidebar tile and the Request a change control both read that access. If you do not have it, you see a short card, not a missing page.
Compose
Owner or admin opens Requests and chooses a new request. Compose is a modal on the board, not a separate form page. Type is Bug, Feature, or Change. You can point at a page. Optional priority (Urgent, High, Medium, Low), a due date, and Repeats every day, week, or month sit on the Request. You can attach an image.
- Open Requests from the sidebar, or Request a change beside Edit on a content list.
- Write a title and what you want changed.
- Pick a type. Add a page, priority, due date, or repeat if you need them.
- Send. Unique admins and developers on the site get email. The owner who filed it does not get a submitter confirmation.
Worker
A worker on that site picks the Request up. The first act on a new Request marks it picked up before anything else. The worker builds on the connected site. xTerminal is not GitHub and does not merge for you. While Requests is open, the board updates in place as status moves.
Review
When a preview link and a complete delivery note are in, status can move to Review. Owner or admin gets a Review this change card: open preview, Looks good, or Needs changes. Needs changes requires a short message and the button is Submit changes. Looks good means accepted, not live yet.
Ship to live
Admin or developer asks to Ship to live after accept. That records promote intent and wakes the worker. The worker then marks the Request shipped. Live is the last quarter on the meter. The list filter still says Shipped. People do not merge in xTerminal for this loop.
Messages
The right pane can open messages on a Request. The list collapses to icons. Detail shows the last few messages and Open messages. You can attach an image, send, and mention a person. There is no live typing. While Review this change is open, Looks good and Submit changes stay on that card.
How to read the board
- The list stays quiet: title, status circle, relative time.
- Filters are Open, Shipped, and All.
- The detail meter is Submitted, Working, Review, Live, with times on the labels.
- Priority, due date, and Repeats every can show on the thread when they are set.
